Texas Instruments offers a variety of reader and reader modules including: RI-ACC-008B, RI-CTL-MB2B, RI-CTL-MB6B, RI-RFM-003C, RI-RFM-007B, RI-RFM-008B, RI-STU-251B, and RI-STU-MRD1-30. They have a frequecy of 134.2 kH. Ranges of opertating temperatures include -25 to 70°C, -40 to 85°C, 0 to 50°C, and -20 to 50°C.

AARFID supplies a variety of 13.56 MHz and 915 MHz RFID readers. The line of 13.56 MHz RFID readers include Feig, Sirit, DLP Design and TEK readers with long range, mix range, serial proximity, USB proximity, and other features. 915 MHz RFID readers include Alien 9900, ALR 9800, 965, and Dock Door Portal ALX-9010.

Active Wave Inc offers RFID readers with a real time processor, operating system, virtual portable memor and transmitter/receiver. The operating range from RFID reader to RFID tag is 85 meters maximum. The operating range from RFID reader to host is 300 meters maximum. The readers features true anti collision capability and noise immunity.

Alien Technology offers a selection of flexible EPC Gen 2 RFID readers based on the Alien Radier Protocol. The readers are supported by Microsoft BizTalk RFID, IBM WebSphere, Oat Systems, Oracle, GlobeRanger and etc. The ALR-9900 has a frequency band of 915 MHz, 4 monostatic antenna ports and AC/DC converter. The ALR-9800 has a frequency band of 915 MHz, 4 multistatic antenna ports and AC/DC converter. The ALR-9650 has a frequency band of 915 MHz, integrated antenna port, one external port and AC/DC converter or POE. The ALR-8800 has a frequency band of 866 MHz, 4 multistatic antenna ports and AC/DC converter.

Biomark offers the FS1001M & FS1001A reader, FS2001F-ISO reader, mini portable reader, pocket reader EX, and pocket reader. The FS1001M Reader detects 134.2 kHz tags and can employ six antennas at once at a stationary location. The FS2001F-ISO Reader is portable, detects 125 kHz and 134.2 kHz tags, and stores up to 4400 tag codes. The Mini Portable Reader operates with 2 9-volt batteries on a frequency of 125 kHz with an internal memory of 1,000 tag codes. The Pocket Reader EX and Pocket Reader operates with 4 AA batteries on a frequency of 125 kHz, 134.2 kHz, and 400 kHz tags.

Identec Solutions offers Intelligent Long Range (ILR) RFID systems with i-PORT readers. i-Port readers can support Ethernet, 802.11 WiFi, RS 232, RS 422, USB, GPRS, and GSM. Reading ranges go up to 500 meters. Additional products include i-CARD active RFID mobile readers to convert laptops, PDAs, and portabel computers into an ILR active reader. Its range capacity is 100 meters. i-CARD PCMCIA and CF cards support i-D and i-Q tags and a variety of antennas. They are compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Mobile, CE.NET, Pocket PC, Windows CE, and Linux.

Intelleflex offers the Intelleflex FMR-5000 MultiProtocol RFID readers that can read EPC-compliant passive tags and battery-assisted passive tags. The RFID readers can read up to 50 meters in free space. Its features inlcude global interoperability, lockable read/write user memory and network capability.

Intermec supplies RFID fixed readers, RFID handheld readers and RFID vehicle mount readers with global capability. Intermec readers can support EPC Gen 2, ISO 18000-6B and 6C standards and fulfills ETSI and FCC RF certifications. The line of RFID fixed readers includes IF61 Enterprise RFID reader which supports Java or C# .Net, IF30 Fixed RFID reader that reads and writes UHF RFID tags, and IF4 Fixed RFID reader that supports an edge server and PLC operations. The line of RFID handheld readers include IP30 Handheld RFID reader with compatability to multiple mobile computers and IP4 Portable RFID reader equipped with Bluetooth, LAN and WAN radios.

Motorola's line of RFID readers include RD5000 Mobile RFID reader, XR450 Fixed RFID reader, FX7400 Fixed RFID reader, MC9090-G RFID Handheld Mobile Computer and XR480 RFID reader for European Deployments. The RD5000 Mobile RFID reader integrates 802.11a/b/g WLAN radios, bluetooth, rugged antenna and self contained battery power. The XR450 Fixed RFID reader supports 4 monostatic and 4 bi-static ports, global operations, Microsoft Windows CE5.0 direct application hosting and Intel XScale processor with 64 MB ram/64 MB flash. SkyeTek offers a line of seven SkyeModules including M1, M1-mini, M2, M4, M7, M9, and  M10. SkyeModules products feature SkyeOS for global tag support, tag optimization and field upgrades, Tagnostic for wide range of RFID tags, TagIQ for maximum performance, SkyeSecurity and SkyeAPI in ANSI C or .NET.

Tagmaster supplies LR and HD series of readers. Thr LR-3 eas has a 5 meter maximum reading range. The LR-3 pro is a 2.45 GHz RFID reader with a maximum 5 meter reading range. The LR-6 is a 2.45 GHz RFID reader with a maximum 10 meter reading range. The LR-6XL is a 2.45 GHz RFID reader with a maximum 14 meter reading range. HD series of readers include HD, LR-6HD, HD Track and Handheld reader, and HD series of ID-tags include ScriptTag HD, MarkTag HD and MarkTag HDS.

Tagsys RFID supplies a selection of High Frequency (HF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) RFID readers. The line of High Frequency (HF) readers includes Medio Long-Range Series, Medio P101 Mid-Range Series, Medio P013 Mid-Range OEM Reader, Medio P032 Mid-Range OEM Reader and Medio Short-Range OEM Series. Tagsys's UHF reader is the Medio RXU400 UHF reader.

Tharo Systems manufactures a handheld RFID reader, the PR100 Hand Held RFID Reader, and a stationary RFID reader, the ST100 Hand Held RFID Reader. THARO PR100 reads 96 bit Gen 2 RFID tags on a maximum range of 5 feet and saves up to 4,000 RFID scans. Its opertating temperature range is -4° F to 122° (-20° C to 50° C). Astra is an integrated UHF RFID reader and antenna for office and commercial purposes with features including DRM, PoE, WiFi options, MercuryOS, reading range of 30 feet at a rate of 190 tags/second and 16MB of flash and 32MB of RAM. The USB RFID reader is powered by a computer and supports EPCglobal Gen 2 with features of Anti-Collision, DRM, 860 to 960 MHz UHF RFID carrier frequency range, and tag read rate up to 190 tags/second. The Vega reader is a ruggedized reader with 9-pin serial connector, data rates up to 921.6 kbps, 2 inputs and one output. Tracient Technologies manufactures handheld and mobile RFID readers for HF and UHF capabilities. Tracient's Padl-R HF Handheld Reader can store up to 1,000 tag values and operates at 13.56 MHz; it features compatibility with Mifare, I-Code, ISO14443 and ISO15693 tags, bluetooth connection, ActiveX controls, and read/write functionality. The Padl-R UF Handheld Reader can be configured between 855 and 960 MHz with bluetooth connection and ActiveX controls. Explore-R HF Ultra Compact Reader is a desktop and coutertop RFID reader that operates at 13.56 MHZ. Explore-R HF2 with WIFI will be available soon with WIFI and USB connectivity.

Vuance supplies AutoAccess Long Range Vehicle ID Readers for hands free vehicle indentification: AA-R500-SP, AA-R500-WP-PRF, and AA-R300-S. The readers feature onmi directional or directional antennas, AutoLocate Dynamic Tag Tracking, secure encrypetd transmission and adjustable tag read range of 0.50 to 600 feet. Specifications include a Rx frequency of 433.92 MHz and operational temperature range of -40 to 158 degrees Farenheit.
