Light Curtains

Omron STI manufactures three safety light curtain models that feature object resolutions of 14mm, 20mm, 30mm, or 40mm. The light curtains also feature coverage height ranging from 240mm to 1800mm, or 245mm to 2495mm. One of the curtain models is available with 26 to 200 beams.

Allen Bradley by Rockwell Automation produces safety light curtain devices including single beam sensors; multiple beam, short range light curtains; type 2 safety light curtains, type 4 connectivity light curtains, point of operation control type 4 light curtains; integrated laser alignment light curtains; type 4 remote teach light curtains; and type 4 standard light curtains.

Banner Engineering designs and manufactures safety light curtain systems, low-profile safety light curtain systems, and miniature safety light screen systems. The standard type 2, safety light curtain systems are offered with 30mm resolution, range of 15m, and can detect narrow objects including a hand or ankle. The light curtain systems are available in trip or latch models, and are a two-piece integrated system with no control box.

Helm Instrument Company Inc. designs and manufactures safety light curtains that feature standard protection heights ranging from 12 to 50 inches with beam spacing of 9mm or 15mm. The safety lights can be programmed for fixed or floating blanking and have a detection range of up to 30 feet. The lights are used in stamping press, robot, conveyor, transfer equipment, welding, assembly machine, automation line, and perimeter guarding applications.

Honeywell Sensing & Control manufactures safety light curtains and multi-beam safety light curtains. The two types of safety light curtains feature resolutions of 18mm, 30mm, 14mm, and 80mm that permit detection of approaching body parts. The multi-beam light curtains are composed of up to four infrared beams aligned on an emitting column and receiving column. These curtains are available with floating blanking, muting, manual restart, and serial connections.

HTM Electronic Industries designs category 2 and category 4 safety light curtains available with fixed or floating blanking.The various light curtains feature resolutions of 14mm or 30mm - with 2, 3, or 4 beams and operating distance of up to 25m.

Keyence America manufactures no dead zone safety light curtains available as finger or hand protection types with water-resistant IP-65 housing. The light curtains have an operation range of up to 9m, built-in LED indicators, and optical axis pitch of 10mm.

Leuze Electronic Inc. designs and manufactures type 2 and type 4, compact or solid safety light curtains. The compact light curtains feature resolution of 14mm or 30mm, range of 0-6m or 0-18m, and protective field height of 750mm, 1050mm, or 1500mm.

Panasonic Electronic Works manufactures type 2 and type 4 safety light curtains available with no dead zone detection, built-in muting, and blanking functions. The company's high functionality, IP67 model light curtain feature beam pitch of 10mm, 20mm, or 40mm, and universal 14ms response time.

Pilz USA manufactures type 2 and type 4 light curtain and light barriers with semiconductor outputs of SafetyBUSp interfaces. The light curtains are for machine guarding applications.

Pinnacle Systems Inc. manufactures five safety light curtain models that feature input power of either 110V, 220 VAC, or 24VDC. The safety light curtains can feature solid state outputs, a metal box controller, or a DIN rail controller depending on model. The light curtains are also available as cascading types, and come standard with system diagnostics and blanking capabilities.

Schmersal USA designs and manufactures category 2 and category 4 safety light curtains that feature resolutions of 14mm, 30mm, 50mm, 80mm, and 500mm. The light curtains are available as master/slave, compact, IP 69K, standard, and I muting types.

Schneider Electric distributes type 2 and type 4 safety light curtains for finger and hand protection, body protection, along with single beam type 2 and type 4 light curtains. The various safety curtains feature resolutions ranging from 280mm to 1360mm.

Smartscan Inc. manufactures four series of safety light curtains for palletizing, machine guarding, load/unload, and perimeter guarding applications. The company's T4 series features an IP65 rating, fixed and float blanking, and muting inputs. The 5000 series features a scanning range of up to 30m and safety monitoring feedback loop.

Automation Direct is a suppliers of category 4/type 4 safety light curtains that feature finger or hand protection, and resolution of 14mm or 30mm.

Carlo Gavazzi produces a line of light curtains available in heights from 6.3 inches to 65 inches. Featuring finger, hand, and body resolutions, the curtains are available with fixed or floating blanking, cascade operation, external device monitoring, and muting function.

Grainger distributes light curtains manufactured by STI. IFM Efector develops and produces safety light curtains with 14mm or 30mm resolution, and height protection of 160mm to 1510mm. The curtains are rated IP69K and designed for the food and beverage industry.
